Crazy Week!

-->written by Zuliana

Hello!

It's been awhile since I've written here (okay fine, I've only done so once.... teehee).
So yes, now I know why I was appointed (by Ms President herself *wink*) to report on the Crazy Week event that took place during the past three weeks..

Crazy Week is basically an introductory project, or rather the IAD lecturers' way of saying "welcome back" after a longg semester break..

However, what makes this introductory project different from the ones we've had in previous years is that everyone was involved! Yes, by everyone I mean IAD students from Year 1 to Year 3 as well as all the lecturers. Everyone was then divided into four super huge groups, consisting around 40 persons each. Can you imagine?

(Webmaster: Can't imagine? Here are some sneak preview of the groups during presentation. XD)

Group A... Awesome! (showing their move-it move-it crew.)

Group B.. Bee!

Group C.. Cavemen!

Group D.. 42 Degrees!

I was placed into Group B with Ms Atie and Ms Huwi Huwi as tutors, and I wish to apologize in advance if this post is a wee bit bias towards the BEE group. Heheh ;-)

The three weeks consisted of lots of group discussions, team work and cooperation. It certainly was quite a challenge working in such big groups.. And having a number of MIA group members didn't come as a surprise :-P

The Year 1 students would come up with crazy, wild designs, the Year 2 students were concerned about the construction methods while the Year 3 students on the other hand would think of ways to tone down the design and make it more workable :-P

Come presentation day, I'm proud to note that all four groups worked equally hard and it certainly showed in the unique "space craft" designs.

Group Awesome's space craft!

Group Bee's haBEEtat.

Group Caveman's Metamorphing Capsule!

Group 42 Degrees' space craft!

The presentation began with the screening of the movies and I was so impressed by the outcome.. The movies were very entertaining and quite professionally done :-D

Group 42 Degrees presenting their short film.

After the movie presentations, everyone made there way down to the sites for the judging process. As the event took place in the evening, it was no surprise that it rained (heavily!) just after the second group finished presenting.

But as they say, rain or shine the show must go on. And that's exactly what happened.

Many scrambled to find umbrellas and quickly made their way to the KBU field to check out the space crafts designed by Groups A and D.

Spot the Principle and the canteen uncle under the (same) umbrella!

Back in LT1, everyone was soaked from the rain, but surely the prize giving ceremony was something not to be missed!

The top two winners, Group D (42 degrees) and Group Bee were announced and prizes were also given to the other two groups.

Group Awesome's Keith.

Group Bee's Ryan (that's the webmaster! XD)

Group Caveman's Wendy!

Group 42 Degree's 4 representatives.. 1st place they are!

At the end of the day, everyone felt like winners regardless of levels and groups :-)
The ceremony ended with photography sessions and tasty tea time treats..

Now you have an idea of how many people are involved in this project. =)

The lecturers got to eat 1st!

That's all folks!
