Diploma Showcase 2009

The Diploma in Interior and Interactive Design Showcase 2009 has successfully held in KBU International College. It is a collection of works by the graduating students of the Diploma in Interior Design and Diploma in Interactive Design programmes at KBU International College and organized by these students.

The interior design and interactive members of this showcase committee came out with a theme and concept of DNA. The DNA represents the building blocks of our existence in life. Each block is made up of different elements and different characteristics that when combined, becomes one unique life. We come to gather as a team; we commit; we took responsibilities in doing part of our job organizing this showcase. In other words, we are the building blocks of future great designers.

After few months of planning, finally it has come to the day. The students were busy setting up the room and work days before to make sure everything was in order. They put on the uniforms and prepare themselves for the showcase that they have been waiting for. The show was started by welcoming the VIPs, respected sponsors, and guests from the MC. It was then launched by our Head for School of Design, Ms Anis. During the launching, there were 2 special draws given by the sponsors for those lucky ones which are Famous Amos hampers. (wow~ )

After the launching, the guests were invited for a tour of the exhibition of the works of the students and also some light refreshment. I must say that the food was good! I think besides the works, food is also another thing that people enjoyed in the showcase. =P

I am writing as I am part of the participants who is also graduating from the college soon. There are countless emotions going through us. Sadness, for the friends that we will leave behind, fear, for the world out there we am about to face, and happiness, for the success we have achieved. What future decisions we make is up to us but one thing for sure, we are ready. We are ready to face the real world with the skills and confidence that we have. We have worked hard and we believe in ourselves. God’s willing, we will succeed! I congratulate and thank the committee for making this showcase a success.

Thank you to KBU International College and faculty members of The School of Design, who has continuously guided us, inspired us to be the best we can, and last but not lease, to our friends and family, for always being there when we needed them the most. Thank you so much.

And finally, I shall now officially pass the torch to another student to continue the writing.
