RE-INVENT MIID 7BELAS.2

Alright it's that time of the year you've been waiting for,
 INTERIOR DESIGN STUDENTS SATURDAY!!!.

As we already know Interior Design Students Saturday is an annual programme that was initiated by the Malaysian Society of Interior Designers (MSID) now Malaysian Institute of Interior Designers (MIID). This year marks the 17th competition held and for Limkokwing University of Creative Technology (LUCT) it is the second time that it is hosting the event. This event brought together student teams from interior and architecture schools across Malaysia to showcase and encourage the development of the nation’s young design talent. The annual event offers a series of talks along with competitions among Malaysia’s future interior design as well as architecture graduates. This event has grown as an event that encourage exchange of ideas and knowledge, expression of opinions in various issues among participants, strengthening ties between the various interior and architecture student communities and opportunities to interact with various parties that are involved in the interior architectural profession.

It’s been a tiring day (7:00 am – 11:00pm) for the participants attended the Interior Design Students Saturday Year 2013 in Limkokwing University of Creative Technology (LUCT), themed ‘RE-INVENT’. The theme Re-Invention is to challenge participants to Think-Inside-The-Box. The box is commonly stereotyped as an object that lacks creative application. It is seen as rigid and formal. The challenges are to re-invent the box itself to bring conscious thought back to the basics to re-think about the thing we often take for granted.

This year, this event is joined by 12 private institutions & local universities of interior design programmes such as LUCT, UITM, SEGI, ALFA, KBU, KLMUC, MIA, UCSI, The One Academy, SUNWAY, SAITO & ERICAN. There were 38 students represented our college in all competitions divided into 4 categories: Category A – Redesign, Category B – Reanimate, Category C – React and Category D – Rebuild.

At the end of the day, we won in a few categories. Congratulations to all the winners from KBU!!!. Below are the details of all prize winners:
