World
Interior Day (WID) 2013 is back reuniting students from different intakes and
this time we’re doing it in a more glamorously-pink fashion!
The World
Interior Day that is celebrated annually at KBU International College acts as a
platform for student to get a tinge of idea towards the existing industry and
possibilities in future. World Interior Day is also the day where all Interior
Design students of KBU were brought together celebrating interior designers
through the art of sharing thoughts and visions.
We do love pink!
All settled down.
The president’s speech
The event was
then followed by a speech from Mr. Ronnie Choong; president of the Malaysian
Institute of Interior Designers (MIID). Mr. Ronnie
shares his memories to how it has been 50years where the contribution of
interior designers has been recognized as a specialized job all across the
globe by IFI. An interior designer gives a sense of purpose and a sense of
profound in a space as our job is to thoughtfully design and creates a sense of
place that solves human needs.
Through
all the stress and distress we feel in our academic years, Mr. Ronnie certainly
has uplifted many spirits, when he mentioned our role in humanity is huge as we
are designers who caters to the good of mankind. Designing spaces for human
experience that is sparked by passion and a responsible design; it truly was an
uplifting speech.
Mr.Ronnie Chong, President of MIID.
KBU’s
deputy principal Mr.Liew too shares his experience in hiring an interior
designer to renovate his new kitchen and his thoughts on how an interior
designer creates a more comfortable living for everyone.

Inspiring enough, a sharing moment from our very own graduates, Ms. Ng Foong Wai as she enlightens us for the possibilities we can carry on in life. The floor was full of optimism and enlightening cheer as they ponder and look forward to what the future holds as aspiring designers.
Pencils and other media is a big part of designer’s life. A talk was given by Ms Sharon from Faber Castle, acknowledging us with the varieties of drawing medias and how it can aid us better in our work.
Followed briefing from Ms. Huwi, regarding a new curricular syllabus from Nottingham Trent University, UK.
Last but not least, an attachment to the event, our club’s Annual General Meeting was held where the current positions in the clubs committee were to be passed on to our enthusiastic juniors. Allowing the club spirit to be carried further in far future.
Once again, a huge thank you to iN Publishers and AkzoNobel for their sponsorship and making the event a successful one! And that marks the end of World Interior Day 2013. See you all next year!
