A superb morning spent visiting the GEM in the city center.
A great opportunity was caught when KLAF2018 posted in their social media on the limited invitation to visit the ILHAM Tower designed by Fosters & Partners and alongside partnering with SA Architects.
Without hesitation, we were able to secure a few slots (first come first serve basis) to visit the very building with a walk-through lecture by SA Architects' representative within the precious 2 hours.
With the signature structure of Foster & Partners.
It is not hard to be recognized from a far.
Opposite of Troika Tower (also designed by Foster & Partners)
Locating just a few minutes walk from Suria KLCC.
The building was stainless steel cladded about 285metre high, with a total of 60-storey, and more than 20 lifts operating inside (private, public & office usage). The layout plan of the building was somewhat hexagon like and spaces are accessible/link through the whole level.
Below is the Lobby where the Office Tower & Element Hotel shares the same public space for guest.
Strong dynamic structure could be seen everywhere interiorly.
Then we were brought to a certain level to visit the un-vacant office level to have a better glimpse of the architecture and the purpose of the exterior structure lining which serves as sun shading.
After the office visit, we were brought to the hotel lobby & visited the facility level with the perfect skyline view of Kuala Lumpur.
And it was raining in the morning.
Panels serves as sun shading interiorly.
