Diploma Showcase - Momentum Aug 2023

The long- awaited and most anticipated event, the Momentum Aug 2023, the diploma graduation showcase is finally here.

The launching of the MOMENTUM AUG 2023 was presided over by the Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Saw Sor Heoh and was also attended by the FDBE Deputy Dean Associate Professor Dr Debbie Gan, Dean of the FDBE, Assistant Professor Chua Huwi Huwi, and the Board of Governors, Director Tan Sri Dato' (Dr) Teo Chiang Liang. Nevertheless, the event was also attended by faculty members, distinguished guests, and industry collaborators.

A total of 19 student projects were displayed at MOMENTUM this year, including 15 projects from the Diploma in Interior Design curriculum and 4 projects from the Diploma in Graphic Design program.

Thank you to all the industry collaborators, guests and family who has show support and attended the event. To all graduates, thank you for being a part of FCUC, your journey does not end here but has just begun. May all of you shine and be the most competent designers in the industry.

World Interior Day 2023 "Sustainability, Design and Beauty"

The faculty members and students of the Faculty of Design & Built Environment (FDBE) gathered to celebrate World Interiors Day on 31 May 2023. The celebration, with the theme "Sustainability, Design & Beauty", was coordinated by the Interior Architecture and Design (IAD) Club of the faculty.

As part of the celebration, the IAD Club extended invitations to two distinguished architects, Ar Alan Teh and Ar Kevin Mark Low, known for their exceptional knowledge and accomplishments in sustainable design. They were invited to share their insights and expertise on the subject of "Sustainability, Design & Beauty" through engaging presentations and talks.

The celebration also feature an Eco Bazaar, a vibrant marketplace showcasing a wide array of sustainable and eco-friendly products. The students put their creative skills and knowledge of interior design and architecture to work, transforming the South Foyer into a vibrant and eco-friendly marketplace. The space was curated to showcase the principles of sustainable design, incorporating elements such as natural lighting, recycled materials, and biophilic design features.

To add an extra element of excitement, the Eco Bazaar featured a competition called the Eco Bazaar Design Competition. This competition aimed to recognize and celebrate the stalls with the most innovative and visually appealing designs and displays.

Diploma Showcase - Momentum April 2023

Once again we kick off the year with our first Bi-annual Graduation Show, MOMENTUM APRIL 2023.

FDBE Dean Assistant Professor Chua Huwi Huwi, FDBE Deputy Dean Associate Professor Dr Debbie Gan, faculty members, distinguished guests, and industry collaborators attended the launch of MOMENTUM, April 12, 2023, which was presided over by Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Saw Sor Heoh. Also present were the Board of Governors, Director Tan Sri Dato' (Dr) Teo Chiang Liang, and the FDBE Dean Assistant Professor Chua Huwi Huwi.

A total of 21 student projects were displayed at MOMENTUM this year, including 16 projects from the Diploma in Interior Design curriculum and 5 projects from the Diploma in Graphic Design program.

We would like to thank all guests and family for visiting us during this short period of the showcase. We are also glad that we had drawn our life and the adventure ahead together as a team. Pursuing our journey and fulfilling our purpose and potential in the Interior Design industry takes a lot of courage but what excites us is the unknown ahead of us awaiting us to dive in and walk forward, together :)

Graduates, Lecturers & Guest Assessors

On 17th August, 2022, Wednesday morning.

Momentum Aug 2022 was launched successfully, witness by honorable guest from the industry and also our beloved lecturer and friends.

The showcase started off with speeches from Prof. Dr. Saw Sor Heoh (FCUC Vice Chancellor), AP Chua Huwi Huwi (Head of Interior Architecture Design), Dr Juhanita Jiman (External Examinator of Diploma Graphic Design).

With much encouragement of words and anticipation, the showcase was then successfully launched.

With all the feedbacks gotten from the industry professionals & guests. We students were much encouraged and feeling excited in what's coming ahead of us once graduated.
