After completed the first quarter of the year, the unseen global human
tragedy broke the chain of our living lifestyle & everyone was
never ready for the change but we tried hard to adjust &
adapt.
The Diploma of Interior Design graduates of May 2020 had turned their
silence into a concerned gaze as they had just completed their first half of
their semester and was ready to gear on their concentration into their
finals & what's more their preparation for Diploma Showcase in 6 weeks
time.
But no, everything went bizarre when Malaysia first announce on its very
first phase of MCO during the mid of March 2020 when Covid-19 Pandemic
spiked in numbers.
"A semester like Corona Virus" says Chew Jia Yi.
Sem 7 was like a“roller coaster” because i had to face so many unexpected circumstances & situations specially during the MCO. It had interupted my schedule & plannings." Chu Jia Cheng.
"I really thought Semester 7 was going to be the best of all sem with
the preparation of graduation showcase, putting up artworks & etc.
Who would’ve thought we would end our 2.5 years with a single click on
the e-portal. No faces, no last words, no nothing. But we could only
accept what we can do."
Class Rep, Mak Yu Wen.

Q1: How we work will change
The sudden pandamic has not only changed our communication patterns but
also has fundamentally altered our way of living, working & studying
through the square black screen behind, calls technology. We tried to carry
on completing our on-going assignment online.
" I find online classes to be less workable as compared to physical
learning, as the communication and discussion between both students and
lecturers become significantly less impact comparing to face-to face
condition." Mak Yu Wen
"I constantly doubt on myself in this final semester. It's feels like i
have a flight to catch & i am never ever ready for it. There's no time
to look back or regret once the plane take off." Yap Jet Yee.

MCO made me focus more during classes & my assignment"
Chuah Sian Joe
"Life is full of surprises. The 2nd half of the final semester was
interrupted by the sudden covid-19. It's sudden interruption made us all
parted ways earlier than we expected. Hope we still could gather in near
future and i am thankful that i did not give up on myself during the
process."
Tham Hiew Kuan.

Q2: The unforgotten road
Something good, something bad, but we tried & gave our best so there is no regret.
Afterall we are doing it for ourselves.
Afterall we are doing it for ourselves.
"The sleepless night. Ideas getting rejected and not to mention,
the cafeteria aunty....." Yap Jet Yee
"The inconclusive decision for our group lunch. The
intense struggle in deciding our lunch location is quite
unforgetable and we always tend to talk alot in all sorts & sometimes
its like a kid war zone. It's quite fun when we are all together." Chua Sian Joe
"My whole Diploma course in FCUC is already an unforgettable moment in
my life. It is the first time that I am exposed to study a subject that
I really have interest about, it lifted me in ways that SPM subjects
could never. After all, it is when we do what we believe is great work
that we could see an incredible change happens in our lives right? If I
had to choose one specific moment, I would say that it was in Semester 2
where I stayed awake for 36 hours straight the day before final
presentation, just to make my final model. It was horrible, 10/10 would
not recommend" Class Rep, Mak Yu Wen
" All those hair fall in every final submission" Chew Jia Yi
"Sem 2, the day before presentation i was rushing with my final model
and i fell asleep at 4am holding a UHU Glue with the model" says Bao Jun Jie.

“The struggle & countless night working on my project. And there was
a time some of
us drove down to Shah Alam to print our board at 3am in the
morning. Perhaps it is the craziest but yet the best memory of my
Diploma." Chu Jia Cheng
"The night before our final presentation during Sem5. The unforgetable
journey down to Shah Alam during midnight to get our presentation board
printed only to realized to took the wrong route & ended up in KL.
Then the A1 printer broke down &
til now we still do not know we hit on the highway it got us all
startled in the car. But we got home safe & even had McD breakfast
before the class. " Tham Hiew Kuan.
Thank goodness they were not alone. Nothing is better than having your
friends riding the roller coaster with you together sharing the same
laughter & roar during the hard time. :)

"Those days of us all 7 laughing, playing, lunching & quarreling
together.
I am thankful to have them in my college life" Chu Jia Cheng
Maybe because the size of my class is small, we only have 7 people in a
group, therefore our bond is relatively close. It feels like
we are all on a small boat heading towards the same destination.
The feeling of working hard together as a team felt nice. I won’t really
miss the food here though." Class Rep, Mak Yu Wen
"I will miss all my friends & lecturers. They are the reason who i
am today with all the help & time together." Chuah Sian Joe
"I will miss my classmates & those SSD bean bags where it is the most
comfy place in the campus, just like my 2nd home." Boa Jun Jie.
"The purest of heart" Chew Jia Yi
It is never the same when we look back to the first day we started this
course. We tend to forget the reason why we kick start our journey and what
changes us is how we look & act towards all the obstacles we encounter
until the final semester.

"I am grateful to my classmate, we had experience so many things
together in the past 2yrs. Specially thanks to our Class Rep Mak Yuwen
who had been leading us & helping us to communicate with our
lecturers. . If the class rep is the one who drive us moving, the so-called binder
is probably our assistant class rep Chu Jia Cheng, he is always the
center of the class who make us laugh & connect us even closer.
Also, thank you to all the lecturers who taught us with your hardwork
& uncondition love." Tham Hiew Kuan
I would like to thank my fellow classmates for making my Diploma life
more bearable. I believe that certain people are put into our lives at
certain moments for certain reasons, and I’m glad it was them. I hope
they would know that each of them shine in their own unique ways and I
have really learnt a lot from them as a person. I wish nothing but the
very best for them. Thank you FCUC, I will miss you dearly."
