DIPLOMA APRIL 2021 GRADUATES

We are the graduates of the January 2019 intake of Diploma in Interior Design. Throughout the course, we faced so many up and down between all the project, countless cups of coffee and sleepless nights but despite all of the struggles we faced, knowing that the end to our diploma gave us mixed feelings. We are happy that we had achieved a milestone together but however, sad to come to the point where we won’t be seeing our classmates and beloved lecturers.

We started our journey of like any normal interior design student where we go to college, attending lectures or tutorials with our lecturers and friends. Little did we know that we had to adapt on to a new lifestyle. We had to adapt to online lectures and tutorials. In the beginning, it was hard for us to get use to doing things online. We can proudly say that we got through the obstacles we faced with a lot of help from our fellow classmates and lecturers. We would like to thank everyone for the unforgettable experience on this opportunity.

“My experience throughout the diploma was a rollercoaster of ups and downs. The countless sleepless nights and relief of finishing the presentations were all worth it.”  - Aminath

My final project for semester 7 was to design a retail outlet for the brand, Island Bazaar.

Island Bazaar is a Maldivian local brand found by Koki and Tom. Their product line consists of products like tote bags, jewelry, key chain & magnets, scarves & sarongs and many more. Their products are inspired by the movements of local handcrafters, the colors of the monsoons and the earthy tones of the local islands. The new retail outlet of Island Bazaar has colors inspired by the earthy tones instead of the everyday colors of the sea. The main inspiration for the outlet is geographical feature; atolls of the Maldives.
